I previewed this show and told everyone that they needed to go and everything about this show exceeded my expectations.
Cayla Fralick-First off I got there a little bit late, but was close to not being able to make it all (circumstances out of my control). I arrived in time to hear Cayla’s last three songs and I really wish I would have gotten to see the entire set. One thing that stood out to me during her set is how well she plays guitar. Her overall sound is very strong. Strong like if it was 1998 again she would fit in perfectly on Lilith Fair. While I wouldn’t put it past her to write a slow delicate song, she seems to be in her element playing upbeat full sounding music. Cayla plays her guitar like she means it and holds nothing back when she sings full voice. She seems like a perfect artist to front a band. Check out her Myspace and you’ll know what I mean. She’ll be playing again Nov 3 at Headliners so be there.
Nick Bays-This was my first time seeing Nick acoustic and I really think this is where he is at his best. Accompanied by fellow FaR band mates they threw together an acoustic set featuring some songs featured on The Becoming EP and new and old songs from Nick’s solo catalog. I say threw together just because there is no way they had that much time to prepare just being on fall break.
Keep up the good work Cayla, Nick, Michael and James.
I left all of the talking before the songs in the videos because I felt like it gives a better feeling of the shows and it keeps everything interesting.
