If you have ever heard the Scene SC.com theme song on Myspace you will notice that it was written by two hardcore suburban gangstas named Sweet Vans. Sweet Vans burst onto the local music scene about a month ago with an EP already recorded named Pens, Bitch!. They will be officially releasing this album this Saturday night at a house show accompanied by The Artichokes, Miss Ohio’s Nameless, The Lynettes. Here is the address 2412 Cypress Street Columbia SC.
While walking across the horseshoe one brisk fall afternoon, Bakari and WIll saw a flaming bush. What arose from the smoke was the message to write the most gangsta-est album the world has ever seen. This is what was done. From telling us the effects of a meal at Pandini’s to telling you how ridiculous you look theses guys are here to educate. From covering stereotypes in race in “Thine Negroes” to telling a precautionary tale to women walking across campus in “Don’t Get Raped” the gangstas laid it all out on the line for you.
i think you’re right with effects 🙂
“Don’t Get Raped” isn’t just for women. 😛
Marcy you are correct that isn’t just for women. But for this song I really hope Will and Bakari aren’t talking about men…I’m really just thinking of that line at the 1:14 mark of the song that I will not write anywhere on this website.
that actually was slightly directed towards both sexes. that could happen to anyone
