Brooklyn NY’s tiny heavyweight, The Savant Guard, follows their highly praised release of Pink Skull’s Drugs Will Keep Us Together EP with an superb debut recording from multi-talented South Carolina indie poponaut, Toro y Moi.
I checked out the songs this morning on Savant Guard’s website. This was the first time I heard the original mix in its entirety, and I was extremely pleased with it. The sound was different from the last Toro y Moi album and I’m excited to hear more of it.
I also listened to the Pink Skull, Tom Lown, Afro Digi Scratch Remixes, and these three interested me the most out of the other 6 remixes on the EP. The Afro Digi Scratch Remix may be my favorite. The release will be limited to 1000 vinyl presses and digital downloads available for order at Savant Guard’s website. I believe copies of the vinyl will also be available in certain record shops in town.
