A couple of months ago Lovedrug mozied through town with a little band called Copeland for a sold out show at New Brookland. So sold out that I saw a couple from Charlotte that had driven down to the show try to pay 40 dollars to get in and still get turned away. Also so sold out that they turned my own sister away. Good thing she saves every wristband from every show she goes to. She just went home and got that matching wristband and got right back in the show.
This time Lovedrug is flying solo and relying on a trio of rocking SC bands to warm up the crowd.
So let me describe what the night will be like. You’ll get to New Brookland around 7:30 just in time to hear David A. play his acoustic set. The first couple of songs you will be pissed off that you had to pay 12 dollars to get in. The second half of the set you will be trying to figure out how in the hell he plays his guitar like that. At some point someone will yell for David to play “Come Pick Me Up” which he probably won’t do, but if he does you are in for a treat.

Next up you will see these dudes in Scene SC shirts take the stage. They will set up a piano towards center stage left which will be surrounded by a guitar stage right and a bass stage left. They will do a couple of line checks in preparation to rock your face off. You will feel something that you before didn’t notice, but are now becoming aware of. Have you had to many red bulls or maybe you just downed that benchmark and coke too quick. Your heart is starting to beat through your chest to the beat of Stephen’s bass drum and you just can’t help, but to scream at the top of your lungs after the first Fire Tonight song.
The next part of the show is a mystery to me. I have yet to see Twilight Armada. I have a feeling that they will keep your head bobbing and your foot tapping as they pound through their set.
