Tomorrow I am going to have to burn rubber out of the parking lot to get to the 6 PM showing of The Hills Have Thighs. I somehow became friends with Bubba Cromer on Facebook and over the last year I have gotten links and status updates about his experimental southern comedy nearly once a week. I have a feeling this one is going to be a big hit in the Indie Grits festival.
The other full length I am really looking forward to seeing is 3 Minutes from Opryland. The movie is a documentary on Mid Tennessee’s wrestling culture. I can’t imagine it being that much different than some of the stuff I grew up around in Blue Ridge. Long live Arn and The Smooth Criminal Olie Anderson eh… and I think the Fabulous Moolah is alive and well at my brothers church in Greenville. If not I saw Bizarro her at the Easter Sunday worship service.
Did I just write “The movie is a documentary??” Can you even do that? That sounds like I’m an idiot. I should really edit that.
