The 4th annual Rosewood Crawfish Festival is going down this Saturday with one of Lousiana’s best Rock and Roll bands, Better Than Ezra, and 5,000 pounds of crawfish. The festival kicks off at 11 A.M. and goes until 8 P.M. with music starting around noon.
What to look out for:
Second Stage
1:00 — 1:35
HANNAH MILLER AND THE MISADVENTURES
Hannah Miller brings her band along with her this Saturday and gets a prime time to showcase some of her new and old songs.
American Gun
5:00-6:00
American Gun goes on just late enough in the day to get a few drinks in you and get you amped for Better than Ezra. Listen out for new songs as the band is recording a follow up to The Means and The Machine.
Main Stage
Better Than Ezra
Better Than Ezra are currently on tour for their new album, Paper Empire, which drops May 12th. It will be the bands bands 6th studio release and their first since 2005.
I’ve always been a big Better Than Ezra fan, but I pretty much have a love hate relationship with their music. I’m not a fan of the cheesy songs like “Juicy” and “Extraordinary”, but “Desperately Wanting”, “Closer” and “At The Stars” are all great songs. Their live shows are usually pretty entertaining too. When I saw them in Charlotte about 10 years ago they brought someone out of the audience to play guitar on alt rock classic “Good.” Should be an exciting show.
Also keep an eye out for the Street Vault Competition. Some of the best pole vaulters from around America will be here to jump along with local amateurs. Watch out for Mitch Greely. He went to high school with me and is now training for the Olympics in Arkansas. He will be here jumping this weekend and is currently rated the second highest jumper in the competition.
And, one of your cousin’s projects, Jellyroll and Delicious Dish will be playing on the side stage at Utopia at 1:00 PM. This band, includes May, Jenn McCallister and Chris Lawther. Drop by to see us if you can. I hate we conflict with Hannah, but it is that way.

I’m playing one of my freelance gigs at the Utopia stage on the corner of Rosewood and Howard as part of this fest. 2-2:45. A steel drum band called J’Ouvert.
Hey I fixed the Banner for y’all!
David, that is friggin’ awesome dude! Can I obtain that banner to post elsewhere. I’m tragically unhip to anything beyond basic html code. How’s the electricity thing working out? Moved already? Need assistance? Call me if you do.
