Aviary Fire will release their newest EP “The Ships Set Sail” this Wednesday night at New Brookland Tavern with support from Carry Your Own (Greenville, SC) and My Losing Season (Columbia, SC).
Just weeks after being featured as one of SC’s up and coming young songwriters at Rhythm on the River, Charlie Jackson and his band Aviary Fire are ready to release their new EP. Columbia’s punk scene has an array of bands and Aviary Fire holds firm the Pop/Power Punk genre. Just like Green Day and Blink 182 have what it takes to cross over into the mainstream, Aviary Fire has the same ability to please an array of fans. It is hard to resist a catchy melody.
Along for the ride Wednesday night will be My Losing Season, who just recorded an EP of their own with Charlie Jackson of Aviary Fire. If you want to watch a band grow up, check out our video of these guys last year and check out how much better they are today. Their MySpace says they are in search of a vocalist, so if you like what you hear Wednesday night see if you can help them out.
While Aviary Fire and My Losing Season will represent the pop side of punk, Carry Your Own has a rawer more aggresive take on their power chords and vocals. They are getting ready to live the life of a rock band and head out on their summer tour covering the East Coast. They are looking for help with a couple of dates so see how you can help them out.
