The Drownout is a name that you have probably seen on Columbia music calendars over the past few years. While based out of Atlanta they have managed to build a solid second home in the city through their fun dance beats and electric stage show.
Tonight they bring the energy to the Art Bar in the midst of their 15 date tour. The tour hasn’t been the only recent excitement for the band. They appeared at Warped Tour in Charlotte and are currently tracking demos for a brand new album!
If you are into dance rock you owe it to yourself to go check out The Drownout. They’ll be performing with The Thirsties, The Next, and Sounds of Suburbia.
Yeah it seems like The Drownout plays in Columbia every other weekend for the same 5 people. How often do they bring Columbia bands back to Atlanta with them?
I’d say if you have an issue with them, take it up with them directly. Its common policy that if a show trade is what you really want then you make sure the band books you a show before you confirm them.

Not common policy, common courtesy. People notice these kind of things.
Excuse me, it is simply smart for bands to do it that way. Thus you avoid getting screwed over.
For what its worth, The Drownout has offered The Fire Tonight at least 2 shows in Atlanta since they played one of our Columbia shows.
Its next to impossible for any bands that tour heavily to offer show trades for every band that helps them out.
