Local bands break up all the time with unfinished business. It usually has to do with band members growing up, growing apart or just scheduling issues. Playing in a band is time consuming and sometimes you just don’t feel like it’s worth it anymore. In 2007 after PirateFest, Maladroit decided to throw in the towel. Almost two years later they have that burning feeling to get back at it.
What you may not know is that they had an EP almost complete when they called it quits. Next Tuesday at New Brookland Tavern, Maladroit will be back in a big way. Not only will they be releasing the “The Burning Free-EP,” but they will be opening for big shots Mustard Plug, The Toasters and Voodoo Glow Skulls. Maladroit has an official CD release planned for early next year along with some supporting out of town shows.
