There has been no shortage of local music videos and documentaries lately and here is a chance to show them off in front of an audience.
We’ve had a lot of local bands release music videos and documentaries lately so this will be a good chance to see them all together and maybe have some of those artists play live.
Info on submission can be found below.
Free local film showing and potentially accompanying live music show. For those of you unaware, Local Night is an event created to showcase Local filmmakers work to the public. This events theme is Music, but the theme really is contingent on how you interpret it. For instance submitting a music video would be a viable submission, but so would submitting a documentary on a local band, or a narrative about a Jazz musician (obviou…sly these are just examples and submissions are not exclusive to simply these). We have had great success in previous events last year and hope that this, easily our most ambitious event yet, can repeat this success. The only way this can happen, however, is the cooperation of our music and film community here in Columbia. We need submissions! From any and all that can submit. Are you a band with a music video? Here is a great opportunity for a large group of people to view it. Do you have a short film that fits the criteria? You should already be sending it to us now. Please help us make this event the best that it can be!
So here are all the official rules for submissions:
1) Submission must some how incorporate the theme [music] Original and copyright-free music preferred
2) Submissions can be no longer than 15 minutes long, but the shorter the better
3) Submissions must be turned in by SEPTEMBER 25th, no late submissions will be accepted
4) Submissions must be in a digital format (.mov or .avi preferred)
5) If you plan to submit or already have something to submit please contact:
Drew Baron (843) 310-9599 Barona@email.sc.edu
or
Alan Woodall (864) 617-5041 Woodallah@email.sc.edu
Please attempt to contact us sooner rather than later even if you are not currently completed. This way we can create a preliminary program.
ATTENTION LOCAL MUSICIANS!!!
We are hoping to have a free showing of local music either before or after the event featuring musicians who have works submitted to the festival. We are still discussing where we would hold this and who would preform. If you have any interest at performing in such an event or know anyone who would please also feel free to contact us.
Remember this event is open to the public, and TOTALLY FREE! Don’t forget to send those submissions! We will see you there.
