Sequoyah Prep School frontman Justin Osborne will headline a solid lineup Wednesday night at New Brookland Tavern, that includes All Get Out frontman, Nathan Hussey along with Brightford and River City Extension.
Sequoyah Prep School is currently taking a break from their steady touring diet until their new album drops early next year. They’ve still been playing shows here and there, but tomorrow night will be a rare opportunity to hear Justin Osborne solo. SPS is known for younger crowds of girls, but their new songs will surely bring a more mature audience. Osborne will be playing some of the new and old tunes live tomorrow.
In the same boat as Sequoyah Prep School, All Get Out also has a new album coming out early next year and they are also taking a break from touring. Nathan Hussey is full of songs, both All Get Out and songs that will be featured on his solo CD that will surely come out someday. Hussey’s songs are painfully honest and representative of his life and the experiences. This honesty is what has drawn fans to the band, and this emotion tends to come out just as much in his solo performances.
Regulars to New Brookland Tavern are no stranger to Brightford. Beth hosts open mic night at New Brookland every Monday and also plays bass in one of Columbia’s finest bands, Say Brother.
I’m just checking out River City Extension for the first time and really like their sound. They feature both male and female vocals and play an upbeat eclectic type of folk. Honestly, I feel like a jerk for not having heard of them before. They’ve been everywhere including NPR, Paste, both AP’s and are friends with the great Brook Pridemore. You’ll enjoy this group of musicians, they sound fun.
