BONNIE PRINCE BILLY and THE CAIRO GANG
Ticket $15 Advance and $18 Day of Show
Doors 7pm
You can’t exactly put a label on Will Oldham. Hell, he can hardly label himself. Over the last 20 years he has played under multiple staged monikers including Bonnie Prince Billy, The Palace Brothers and under his own name. He has dabbled in front of the big screen and just last year narrated a documentary. But one thing is for sure, he’s probably influenced a lot of your favorite songwriters. In 2004 and 2006 Tract Records released a tribute album to Will Oldham that included such acts as Iron and Wine, Mark Kozelek and Calexico to name a few.
Oldham is a Mid-Appalachian songwriter that doesn’t shy away from the dark internal struggles of man and himself. His brutal honesty in his music is often graphic and haunting. He is currently on tour supporting his new album The Wonder Show of the World, recorded with Emmett Kelly of The Cairo Gang.
