Six years ago pop punk bands were a dime a dozen across cities in America. Warped tour was doing well with a mix of pop punk and emo and everyone seemed happy. In Columbia today, all of those bands have to band together because there aren’t many of them left. There are still a couple of pop punk bands with a national presence, but for the most part, that scene is in waiting for it’s day in the sun again. Who know’s what will be next? We’ll have to wait and see.
In a genre of music like pop punk it can be hard to stand out. One of the main keys is to be catchy and to be tight as a band at that’s where A Brighter Life excels. The new songs hit hard with thick hooky guitars that set the background for songs that live on the melody.
Opening the show will be Behold the Messenger, This Is Home and Fusebox Poet.
