Sequoyah (formerly Sequoyah Prep School) has got a whole lot to talk about these days. After spending a couple of years hitting the road hard, they’ve taken a little break and have finished up recording their new album.
New name, new album called Spells coming out March 1st, 27 show dates including 3 days at SXSW, and really a new sound to go along with it. Their new album comes from a different vein than any of their previous material and long time fans will take notice. Ghost Town was and is a fine album, it was exactly what the fans wanted, clean cut, melodic and shined to a dime. From what we’ve heard of Spells it’s going to be a different story and open them up to a whole new world of fans. Old fans need not worry, you’ll still be singing along.
In addition to the below dates, Sequoyah will be here next Saturday February 5th with Wylie, Elonzo and Josh Roberts and the Hinges celebrating the release of our 2011 sampler which features “Long Winded Woman” off their new album. You can also hear that song live in the video above.
