I had a chat with someone yesterday talking about the SC music scene and how it is unique. I said we have a ton of really creative, innovative and talented people here, and it seems like sometimes they are noticed more nationally before they really catch on locally. It’s like, oh they are getting national press, they must be good. Point is, pay attention to what you have going on in your backyard before you go looking for it elsewhere.
The Southeast, including our state, has never been any slouch when it comes to being innovative with music. I’m actually not sure who actually thinks that…even music snobs know that’s the truth. Some of the songs on this compilation are a fine sample of what we have going on here.
The Future Y’all compilation features 16 innovative unsigned artists from across the state of SC.
