Farewell Flight and Andy Zipf have a couple of things in common. First off, it wasn’t planned that these bands played together. That just happened by chance. See, both Andy Zipf and Farewell Flight had played at the SceneSC House of Softcore. Andy actually played twice, and the guys from Farewell Flight have not only played, but attended shows there. Both bands got in touch with someone at SceneSC and the date just worked out. The house shows aren’t the only thing they have in common. Farewell Flight just released their new record on Mono vs. Stereo Records and Andy Zipf is listed on their roster of former artists.
These two bands will be joined on stage by Dear Kavalier and Nick Bays, who also played sets at The SceneSC House of Softcore. It’s funny how that all works out.
Unlike their past HoS shows, this show will be full band for both Andy Zipf and Farwell Flight. FF toned it down last time to not disturb the neighbors. Playing drums with Andy Zipf will be Columbia’s own Colin Brown. I personally think he’s the best drummer I know, but I am biased, I played in a band with him for 4 years and never heard him once mess up. He’s also played with Marry a Thief and Emily McCollum more recently just to name a few.
Frontier Sons will anchor down the middle of the line up Tuesday night. They have a tour scheduled this October with The Lion in Winter. Both bands are made up of members dedicated to making some noise and building a following. We’ll be following both of them closely. Check them out and expect to hear more from them soon.
