It was a hot hot hot summer July day nearly three years ago when we went to New Brookland Tavern to see Gaslight Anthem. What we heard was sweaty working class punk that stopped into Columbia on an off date from Warped Tour. The Gaslight Anthem was on Warped Tour 08′?? Yeah, Warped Tour has good bands, you usually don’t appreciate them until they graduate from it.
Horrible Crows is the new project from Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon. Just like Gaslight Anthem the lyrics are forthright. Horrible Crows Elsie is sort of a concept album alluding to “the struggle for gain and greed in our lives.” For fans of Gaslight Anthem this album is just a more laid back look into Brian Fallon’s song writing and it’s close to perfect.
