After keeping it upbeat and poppy with their past three releases on the SceneSC Sampler, Brave Baby (formerly Wylie) have released a dark little gem as their first single from their upcoming record.
“Living in the Country” is the first single released off Brave Baby’s upcoming record Forty Bells, due out January 15, 2013 on Hearts and Plugs record label. The song is eerie, based around a keyboard hook with a tone that is reminiscent of Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But a G Thang”, or Snoop Doggy Dog’s “Gin and Juice”.
In early 2012 we debuted three songs from the new record “Foxes and Dogs”, “Days of our Youth” and “Lakeside Trust” which showed a different side of the band than they had shown with previous recorded material. Songs like “Summerhouse” and “Vidalia” blithely bounced around with little worries, while the newer songs struggle through maturation and relationship issues with women and God.
