Filth Fuxers ~ Four AM Friends ~ Gravitron ~ Harlem Downtrotters
9pm (doors @ 8pm)
$5
One theme that has carried over in modern music throughout the years is the rebellious nature it has the ability to bestow. Listening back on bands like The Who, they’ve lost their edge to new generations, but in their day songs like “My Generation” were anthems of the youth. A social statement separating them from their forefathers and their sometimes narrow views of politics and the traditional family structure.
With Filth Fuxers grainy new album My Generation, they reflect on their own generation through the eyes of Daltrey and Townshend. Their views are peaked out, distorted, young, loud, and in your face. They’re tongue in cheek, Southern, and fuzzed out to the max. It might not have the same effect as the original “My Generation”, but it certainly makes a statement of its’ own. Loud and ready to be taken on the road.
