Today’s a big day for Mat Cothran. Not only is it his birthday, but Pitchfork also debuted the release of his new single “Burn a Church”.
Some Coma Cinema fans might remember “Burn a Church” from its previously released version in 2011. The new version, recorded in Los Angeles and produced by the guys in TV Girl, sounds quit different, cleaned up around the edges and more dynamic. “Burn a Church” stands out on the album with vocal effects and programmed drums, with the other songs opting for acoustic guitar, live drums, and beautiful layers of keys and horns mixed throughout.
“Posthumous Release” out June 11th via Fork and Spoon Records (vinyl/CD) and Orchid Tapes (cassette).
