Cartography Volume I Due Out 8-27-13
With the first single from Cartography Volume I, the first in a two volume series, Bobby Blake Monroe comes out firing with heavy guitar lines bouncing back and forth reminiscent of Futures era Jimmy Eat World. Cartography is Monroe’s first release under is own name, previously writing and recording as Attalaya and American Parts.
Monroe started the recording of Cartography Volume I at Forty-One Fifteen Studios in Nashville with Columbia, SC native Taylor Bray, with the finishing touches happening in Monroe’s home studio where he recorded electric guitars, mixed and mastered the album. Volume I features more straight forward rock songs, with more of a pop element than his earlier material. Volume II, the full length album planned for a November 2013 release, leans acoustic in comparison.
