When: Saturday September 7, 2013
Where: The Congaree Vista, in and around the Gervais Street corridor at Lincoln Street.
The Vista’s got a lot to celebrate these days, with the opening of Urban Outfitters and Chipotle in the last couple of months, it may only be a year or two away from its complete transformation. For the past six years Viva La Vista has been a showcase of the best parts of what the area between the State House and the river have to offer. 20 of the Vista’s 60 restaurants are set to offer some of their best dishes, from Motor Supply Company’s lobster potato salad to Blue Marlin’s housemade pimento cheese, some of the Vista’s best restaurants are set to be dishing it out. If these salty dishes have you salivating, Columbia’s own Conquest Brewing will be serving up some of their craft brews along with many others that will be on tap along with a wine tent.
Headling the music portion of the event is The Wailers, an internationally recognized reggae band made up of the remaining members of Bob Marley and The Wailers. And if you’re wondering if they play the hits like “No Woman No Cry” and “Get Up Stand Up”, they sure do. The music goes all day and also includes local favorites The Reggie Sullivan Band, Lunch Money, and up and comers 76 and Sunny.
