It was nearly two years ago when we reviewed fun.’s latest album Some Nights, somewhat defending it from a handful of negative reviews it was receiving at the time. As fans of all three members of fun. and their previous projects, we fell in love with the album from the start, ranking it #8 in our top 25 albums of 2012. In our current age of blazingly fast news and information cycle it shows the strength of Some Nights that the band is still touring on that album. To me it makes sense, that album has been in my car CD player since it came out. Just two months after Some Nights dropped I got to see them twice in two nights at SXSW, two of the best shows I saw that week. The album is huge, and well produced. You’ve heard the songs everywhere by this point, so seeing them live and hearing Ruess singing his heart out is really something special even for casual fans.

Opening the show is Tegan and Sara, who reached for the same slick production on their latest album Heartthrob and succeeded in making one of their best albums to date. Even more a reason not to miss this show.
