November 8 at The Music Farm in Charleston, SC with The Front Bottoms and O’Brother
Since their Record Store Day split release with Frightened Rabbit and Grouplove, Manchester Orchestra as a whole has stayed relatively quiet this year. Following them on social media shows that they have a new album in the works, rumored for a Spring 2014 release. Before the close of 2013 they have this tour leading up to The Stuffing, the annual concert they host the night before Thanksgiving at the Center Stage complex in downtown Atlanta. You’d think they’ll be taking a handful of their new songs out for a test drive on this tour like they’ve done in the past. Prior to Mean Everything to Nothing some sets didn’t include one previously recorded song.
Though it is Manchester Orchestra’s first US tour in nearly two years, they’re bringing along support with two bands that count dashes and state lines year round. Both The Front Bottoms and O’Brother have new albums out which have taken both bands to a higher level of popularity. This year saw O’Brother open dates for Alice in Chains and The Front Bottoms tour around the world and record several concerts of note including like NPR’s Tiny Desk Series.
