In November I found two demos in my inbox from a new band named Milky White. The tracks were simply titled “Tremolo Song” and “Delay Song”, fairly accurate descriptors for the straight-shooting indie rock songs. The tracks came from guitarist Ben Kerley, the man who booked some of the best acoustic shows at the House of Softcore over the years.
This project is fronted by the strong lead vocals of Jules Campbell, with Sonny Reyes on drums and Dylan Walker on bass. Originally Milky White was made up of just Kerley and Reyes who would write songs around guitar effects and upbeat drumming. That’s how these four songs were written, with the integral presence of Campbell’s vocals arriving later as the band collaborated on lyrics.
The debut 4 song EP out today via Bitter Melody Records is available on pink, black, and green 7 inch vinyl. Milky White plans to play more shows starting at the end of the summer, still writing new material in the down time.
