So, it’s been a minute.
David and I agreed that I needed something other than summer/winter jamz…besides, Bakari’s got that on lock.
Kat’s Corner – coming to you live from Nashville (not the TV show).
I just got a new gig and am now producing an Old Country Classics Radio Show.
I’m still trying to stay “hip with the kids”, so here’s what I’ve been digging recently…
Uma – Panama Wedding
Stumbled across this one a few weeks ago, and it’s had a permanent place on all my current playlists. I usually listen to pop country or really sad indie singer-songwriter stuff, so this is a bit of a shift. Whatever, it’s summer. Put some tequila in your cool lime refresher, re-apply your sunscreen, and enjoy.

Leave The Night On – Sam Hunt
If you follow me on any sort of social media, and/or you’re friends with me in real life (hello!), you’ve heard me talk about Sam Hunt. I’m not quite sure what direction his label/management/marketing team is ultimately going for, but they’re starting off in Country. Hunt’s had a couple cuts on some big country records, and QB’d at a D1 school, which is basically all it takes to get on my radar. This is his newest single (although House Party should’ve been it, in my opinion). Listen y’all. I promise it won’t hurt ya.
The South – Cadillac Three
Okay, so I’m not gonna make you listen to Florida Georgia Line, but I DO think you should check out this song. Even if only for the music video, because it’s absolutely ridiculous. And no, Nashville doesn’t look like this 24/7… or really ever. But I mean, it really IS all about The South, right? If you can’t sympathize with “This is where I was born, and this is where I’ll die”, then we probably can’t be friends. Please close this browser tab and go back to Buzzfeed.
Liberator – Noah Gundersen
This summer has put me through the ringer already, and we’re only a few weeks in. I’ve also done a lot of driving across the SouthEast already, and Ledges has been a staple in my rotation. This song never fails to bum me out, in the best way. Just when you think he’s got it all figured out… BAM. (ps: this will try to fill the Austin Crane-sized hole in your heart).
