Alright y’all, The Diagnosis returns Wednesdays 10 p.m. to midnight, which means WUSC Wednesdays are back.
One of my favorite parts of being a DJ at WUSC is being able to introduce South Carolinians to the sounds of my own home–Chicago. While each of this summer’s major tours passed through my city and big artists continued to release great music, I enveloped myself in the Chicago sound. So to start off this semester, the first feature I’d like to introduce y’all to is The O’My’s…Â
While traditional genres would label The O’My’s as a precise blend of soul, jazz and hip-hop, this crew is self-proclaimed rock ‘n’ soul.
Having already worked with other Midwest heavy-hitters including Chance the Rapper, Twista and Donnie Trumpet, The O’My’s are an integral piece of Chicago’s growing stronghold on the young hip-hop scene.
But what’s best about this group of talented folks is that an authentic influence of sound can be directly traced to the gods of all things soulful and rockin’–Prince, George Clinton, Louis Armstrong, The Temptations. The O’My’s are straight up groovy.
Do your ears a favor and tune in tonight to WUSC, 90.5 FM or wusc.sc.edu, at 10 p.m.
