USC Student Showcase
New Brookland Tavern
Fri. Dec. 5
6 p.m.

Tomorrow marks a joyous milestone on the USC student calendar: no, it’s not 4/20. I’m talking about the last day of classes! With the semester officially winding down, there could not be a better time to celebrate: the sigh of relief between your last five days of group projects and research papers you’ve been putting off all year and just prior to an exam week of sleepless nights and venti vanilla bean frappucinos in T-Coop.
Breathe. In. The. Music.
Before you even have the chance to think about the hours of grueling, mind-numbing, eyeball-straining studying you must endure, put on your favorite party suit (not birthday suit) and head over to New Brookland Tavern for an early evening of chillaxation. No, it’s not a word- it’s a state of mind. Come unwind.
Scene SC is teaming up with three student bands to bridge the gap between local music and USC. What better day to celebrate and what better way to celebrate than with your fellow talented students? Doors open at the early hour of 6 p.m., so don’t worry about your late night Five Points bar-hopping or house party rendezvous. This is a way to pre-game and enjoy some solid beats. The tunes will be winding down around 9 p.m.
The three acts in the line-up are Corbett Alexander, Casio Mio and Callosum, who will further be known as The Triple C’s. C is for classy cool cats. You can check out all of those classy cool cats via Scene SC’s exclusive digital download code, which is now available!
Two tracks from each artist are available for download up until the show: Download Here!
Callosum, an enigmatic blast of electronic beats, features former Tiger Hudson keyboardist Mason Youngblood, who was featured in Garnet & Black magazine in the fall issue’s Hey, Mr. DJ! Spread. The solo project highlights intricate and hypnotic EDM pulses.
Casio Mio brings a raucous, high-energy set that electrifies the crowd. Quirky vocalist and lead man Pedro LopezdeVictoria, a founding member of Scenario Records and Scene SC contributor, is a character all his own and takes the stage with his posse of upbeat, spaztastic instrumentalists.
Corbett Alexander was recently featured in Garnet & Black magazine as the up-and-coming on-campus artist to look out for in the winter issue. The progressive rock five-piece released its debut EP A New Dawn and headlined the Garnet & Black launch party on Nov. 13 at Jake’s Bar and Grill.
Don’t miss a killer show and chance to enjoy your last stint of freedom before exams attack!
