With their 7 inch split with North Carolina band Schooner dropping this weekend, Can’t Kids fittingly premiered the video for their new song “Wal Mart Parking Lot” through Free Times because well… “can’t get enough of me Free Times” sings frontman Adam Cullum. Don’t be confused, the video stars Tyler Morris who blinks away his demons Elizabeth Montgomery style, but the ET Anderson frontman is just adding to his IMDB of local music videos here.  Those demons happen to mostly be members of other bands including Can’t Kids themselves, along with MyBrother MySister, Happiness Bomb, Dear Blanca and others.
Can’t Kids don’t disappoint with their new songs, with this one being one of the best in their catalogue. I’ve had this vision where Can’t Kids never stop releasing amazing music, turn into a cult classic type band and finally break out to a national crowd in 10 years. They’re already a Soda City musical treasure, but I think we’d be happy to share them.
This weekend Can’t Kids play two (three if you include the Saturday afternoon kid friendly show at Drip in 5 Points) shows to promote the 7 inch release. Friday night at Cat’s Cradle in Carborro, NC and the same lineup coming south Saturday for a show at New Brookland Tavern. It’s only $3 and the first 50 people through the door get a free 7″ and poster, so get there early.
The music video was directed, shot, and edited by rising talent Gibbes deLoach.
May 30, New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC – $3 – first 50 people get free 7″ & Ron Liberti poster:
