What’s the first album you remember loving as a kid?
Josh Gilley: When I was 8, my mom got me Sticks and Stones by New Found Glory. I also got Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory soon after and those were my earliest favorites.
Jon Warf: Blink 182 Enema Of The State
What as the first album you bought with your own money?
JG: When I was 9 I bought the All American Rejects Self-Titled from a local Barnes and Noble.
JW: It was either My Chemical Romance Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge or Slipknot – “Self Titled.” Both were when I was 10 years old and I can’t remember which was first.
What was the first local band you were a fan of?
JG: Truthfully I used to be into metalcore bands back when I first started going to shows. My friends played in this band We Sail at Dawn that played our high school talent show and I think that was the first local band that I was into.
JW: Stretch Arm Strong or Baumer. I was in middle school at the time but I remember paying attention to those bands.
What’s the most recent album you bought or have been listening to lately?
JG: The most recent vinyl purchases for me are Buck Owens and His Buckaroos Open Up Your Heart and Caspian’s Waking Season. I like old country western music and I like post-rock so that explains that.
JW: This band Spraynard from PA put out a record called Mable this year that hit me hard. If not that, then the Mew record that came out this year.
When can we expect to start hearing the new record? Maybe a single or something coming soon?
JG: A new song should be premiering within the next week or so. After that our record is set to come out November 6th. We’re planning a record release show in Columbia November 21 and in Greensboro, NC November 28th kicking off our east coast winter tour.
