What’s the first album you remember loving as a kid?
Definitely Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak. It was the first album I felt a genuine
connection to, thematically and musically. It still inspires me to this day.
What as the first album you bought with your own money?
I don’t exactly remember. I think it was a 7 inch from the White Stripes along with a Bad
Brains EP. “The Omega Sessions” I think it was called.
What was the first local band that caught your ear?
The Ugly Chords, without a doubt. When I first heard Harbinger I absolutely fell in love.
They’re pretty cool people too.
What’s the most recent album you bought or have been listening to lately?
Recently, I’ve been listening a lot to Anti-World by Sybyr, Young Father’s new album
Cocoa Sugar, Danger Incorporated and Melody’s Echo Chamber. I’ve also been really
into About Years by Slush and the new Contour single Tantrum in Azure.
What can you tell me about all the things you have in the works?
I’m working on a music video for my new song, and a new EP that I’m planning to drop
this year. I’ve really labored a lot over this project, putting a lot of passion and hours into
it because I want it to really represent me as an artist and an individual and my current
state of mind. I’m also working on a collaborative project with a friend from the UK, which
I’m really excited about. It’s going to have more of an alt-R&B feel to it. I have a few
other things in the works this year, but I don’t want to give too much away.
