Back in April Grace Joyner shared a photo from Rialto Row recording studio saying her new album is getting close. That still stands true, as they’re putting the final touches on the record and look forward to a 2019 release. Even without a new album 2018’s been a busy year for the band. Last month Grace Joyner not only toured with Valley Maker on their release tour as opening act, but also joined as their backing band with Joyner on keys and vocals and Nic Jenkins on percussion. They’ll also be joining Valley Maker as backing band on their west coast tour in December.
In Joe Chang’s latest Wrigley Field session Joyner performs her new song “Brother” beautifully with only keys and vocals. This session, along with the last Valley Maker session were both filmed in Black Mountain, NC outside of Asheville.
As baseball season has closed and the Boston Red Sox were crowned champions so too closes the first season of the Live from Wrigley Field Sessions. But fret not, as spring rolls around so too will season two of these sessions.
