Highwater Music Festival returns to North Charleston and Riverfront Park April 13 and 14, 2019 with another loaded lineup, this year headlined by Leon Bridges and The Head & The Heart. The third large font band being of course Shovels and Rope, who are the host band and founders of the festival, now in its third year. Like in years past, the lineup is loaded from top to bottom, with this year’s standouts including Mitski, Lord Huron, Phosphorescent, Hayes Carll, and plenty more. As rooted in Americana as this festival is, soul plays a large part as well, as shown by headliner Leon Bridges, along with acts like Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Durand Jones & the Indications.
More than just a music festival, Highwater again brings back Pass the Peas, a distinctive, family-style dining experience, along with the festival’s official kickoff party, Low Tide Social. Seaborn Oyster Co. also returns to introduce the basics of oysters and oyster farming educational classes. They’ll teach you not only those practices and background information, but also how to shuck and enjoy oysters to the fullest, also providing a tasting of over a dozen different oyster varieties.
All of these are optional add ons to your Music Festival pass. This festival sells out every year, so make sure to get your tickets early!
