Darren – Seven and the Ragged Tiger by Duran Duran
Kristen – Herbie Hancock Headhunters. My brother and I used to dance around the living room to Chameleon.
Zachariah – My Dad’s vinyl Steely Dan “Gaucho,” yes I was three, ruined me for life. (See below)
Branhan – Too close to call; either Storm Front by Billy Joel or Weezer’s debut….The Blue Album
What as the first album you bought with your own money?
Darren – Raising Hell by Run DMC at age 11 (thanks for letting me buy it even with the sticker, Ma!)
Kristen – No Doubt Tragic Kingdom
Zach – A cassette tape of Anthrax “State of Euphoria”
Branhan – Think the first album I bought was Purple by Stone Temple Pilots.
What was the first local band that caught your ear?
Darren – Sourwood Honey – they were a few years ahead of me at Lexington HS
Kristen – The Restoration
Zachariah – Mountain Express, which is now known as Big Sky Revival
Branhan – The Post Timey String Band was, and still is, righteous!
What’s the most recent album you bought or have been listening to lately?
Darren – Jenny Lewis “On the Line” – her best yet! – also Mario McClean’s new record LEARN
Kristen – Unless by Hawktail- really raging and super creative acoustic instrumental band. Can’t stop listening to this album!
Zachariah – Tchavolo Schmidt “Live in Paris”
Branhan – I’ve been doing push-ups and pull-ups to Chronicle: CCR’s greatest hits.
Any other news or upcoming releases for 2019?
Darren – trying to see Boomtown Trio, Louis Reinhardt, and Slim Pickens as often as possible
Kristen – My other project Boomtown Trio will be finishing our first full length album in June, so be on the lookout for that!
Zachariah – playing a lot of guitar in 2019. A LOT.
Branhan – Just want to keep learning the guitar
