Freeway Music Festival returns to The Senate Saturday August 24th, featuring close to 20 local and regional acts on 4 stages. The all day event kicks off at noon with and goes all day for only $10.
While we pulled together the four bands and Kid Trails on the SceneSC Stage and WXRY Stage the full lineup features some of the top talent from around the Carolinas curated by Free Time’s Jordan Lawrence, WXRY, and Freeway Music.
There’s something to be excited about from the top down, with Equal Vision record’s band Museum Mouth playing just weeks before heading on a nationwide tour opening for Say Anything. Kid Trails heads to New York after the show to head back out of tour playing bass for Toro y Moi. Cicala heads out on tour in early September in support of their upcoming album, their second of the year. Core Sample features a loaded lineup featuring members of Dear Blanca and ET Anderson, fronted by Dylan Dickerson. The SceneSC Stage features two of SC’s best recording engineers in Kenny McWilliams of Archer Avenue Studio and Wolfgang Zimmerman from Rialto Row in Charleston. Zimmerman, now focusing on his solo project, was the drummer in Brave Baby.
