There was no 2020 SceneSC Sampler. (Read more on that here) It seemed like 2019’s Volume 10 would be the last. A decade of music compilations featuring South Carolina music is a pretty good run….enough of that type of thinking.
It’s always a fun little exercise to look back at our previous samplers and see where those artists are now. Who is this band Susto towards the end of the 2014 sampler? Shovel’s and Rope in 2012, Emily McCollum of Stagbriar in 2011. The list goes on and on.
Hopefully when we look back at the 2021 compilation in 2030, we’ll be saying the same things. Hopefully our 2030 comp will not be AI generated. I’m not prepared to think about that yet.
