Growing up in the Upstate of South Carolina I never could have foreseen Greenville, SC being the beautiful downtown that it is today. The Greenville Braves played miles from the West End and the only reason to go downtown was Fuddruckers, or maybe a trip to the Army Navy store.

In the late 90’s things started to change. We saw the implosion of the big brown box and the construction of the Bi-Lo center. We saw Main St. come to life and the people of Greenville come out and support it. In the late 2000’s the rest of America caught on and accolades started rolling in. Today Greenville has one of the top downtown’s in America. Cultural events like Artisphere are large part of what makes it special, bringing in some of the regions top musical acts.

This years 3 day lineup is anchored by Jill Andrews on Saturday night and freshly signed major label act Matrimony, who will headline the Camperdown Way Singer/Songwriter Stage Sunday at 4 PM. Also playing are SceneSC sampler vets Shovels and Rope, Ryan Bonner, and The Tarlatans. John Wesley Satterfield will have a week to sober up after his rousing pre Gin Blossoms set last Saturday, Cinco De Mayo, at The Rosewood Crawfish Festival in Columbia. Also playing are Greenville’s home town folk heroes Mountain Homes and Jill Andrews harmony man/keyboardist/guitarist Josh Oliver, who plays some fine songs himself.
