Western Canada’s Imaginary Cities are going to be a long way from home when they roll into New Brookland Tavern this Saturday, May 19 with Mewithoutyou. Luckily for them, Mewithoutyou has made Columbia, SC a special place over the last 10 years and has a dedicated following in town.
On first listen you’ll notice singer Marti Sarbit’s unique soulful voice. From track to track the duo which also features Rusty Matyas, moves across genres finding a darker soul on tracks like “Ride This Out” and poppy jazz on “Manitoba Bossa Nova.” The acoustic version of “Marry The Sea” sounds most reminiscent of She and Him with simple pop sensibilities.
The Imaginary Cities prize pack includes an autographed poster, button, shirt, CD and two free tickets to the show Saturday at New Brookland Tavern.
