December 21, 2012 has been a date marked on most of our calendars for the past couple of years. Most of us have a feeling that will have the same outcome as the infamous Hale-Bop comet, well the same outcome minus the pineapple poison and vodka. For us we’re using the date as an event to celebrate 2012 and look forward to 2013 with a bang of a concert.
Headlining the show will be The Noise is Love who will be revisiting their past by reuniting with their original 5 piece lineup before taking a break to regroup a bit in 2013. With the original lineup back together the band will revisit the material from their never-released 2008 album Pioneers of the Soviet Avant Guard, a loose concept album about a fictional communist uprising in the South. This will be the last chance to hear these songs, maybe ever again. Drummer Jon Crutfield will be stepping down to pursue school full-time, and Mills Estes will be rejoining the band in 2013.
Joining The Noise is Love on the bill will be a host of Columbia’s finest including The Sea Wolf Mutiny, The Restoration, and Latenights. The Restorations praise has been sung all over lately in response their new album Honor the Father. Both The Sea Wolf Mutiny and Latenights have new albums in the works, both eyeing release dates in the first half of 2013.
