Before beginning their month-long residency at Snug Harbor last night, Elonzo released the first single off their upcoming album Salt in the Wound, Flesh on the Bone. “Canon Fire Desire” builds slowly, opening with drums that become of the backbone of the song, before soaring into a chorus of piano, bass, and guitar leads in the latter half of the song.
Elonzo’s residency at Snug Harbor has not only given them the chance to play each week, but also the opportunity to host other fine bands in the Queen City. Every Wednesday in January, Elonzo will be joined by a couple of different bands including Bo White, The Restoration, and Can’t Kids. The last Wednesday will be the Charlotte album release, with release shows in Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville following.
