A lot has changed since Kopecky Family Band was our band of the month in February of 2012. A great new album, radio airplay, and successful tours may seem like enough, but the big news is that 2 weeks ago they joined the ATO Records family alongside My Morning Jacket, Alabama Shakes, Drive By Truckers, Lucero, and many more.
The rise of the band has been a steady one, that kicked into high gear at the beginning of 2011. In our interview with them last year they speak of how 2011 snuck up on them as a big year. Their rise is a testament to their music. Where most bands either make or break at this point in their careers, Kopecky Family Band keep on soaring. While hardcore fans long to hear songs from the Embrace’s EP live, new fans find joy in discovering the bands back catalog. And this will only increase with ATO rereleasing their latest album Kids Raising Kids on April 2.
