Summer is always a good time for new music, but 2013 has been exceptional. From the beginning you could tell that 2013 was going to be a great year in music. In this state alone, there have been upwards of 10 quality releases, with more buzz coming. (Valley Maker!)
This Tuesday marked one of the best weeks in music I’ve seen in a while. There was literally some new for music lovers of all shapes and sizes. I just wanted to take a moment and share some of the great singles and albums that came out. Take a listen, and let us know if we missed anything!
Sombear – Now, Now drummer Brad Hale released his debut full-length, “Love You In The Dark” on Trans Records. The album, which is a mix of dance, house, pop, and indie-rock, is just fantastic from top to bottom. [Listen Here via Consequence of Sound]
Andrew Belle – Singer/Songwriter Andrew Belle debuted his first single since the beginning of 2012. The song, entitled “Pieces”, is a complete change in pace from Belle’s original work as a singer/songwriter…think Paper Route mixed with The One Am Radio. [Listen Here via USA Today]
Hussey – South Carolina sweetheart Nathan Hussey released his first single off of his upcoming solo record “Ground Me”. The song, “Angry Men”, is a sneak peek into the fantastic works that Hussey has created throughout the years of playing as All Get Out’s frontman. [Listen Here via SceneSC]
Balance and Composure – These gritty rockers released “Reflection”, a single from their new album, on Tuesday. B&C paid a visit to Columbia last year and sold out while on tour with Circa Survive. James Bay – If you haven’t heard of Bay yet, familiarize yourself. The British-born singer/songwriter just released his debut EP “The Dark of The Morning” for FREE at NoiseTrade. It’s only a matter of time before this Republic Records artist catches fire. [Free Download via NoiseTrade]
Childish Gambino – Gambino. What more do we have to say? He’s done it again. He recently released his new track “Centipede”, which picks up right where he left off. I’m not even going to write any thing else, because I wouldn’t do it justice. By the way, it’s up for free download. Thanks, Donald! [Download via EW]
