Last Friday night, Alexa Woodward played material from her new album to a full house at Studio 12b in Greenville’s West End. The new record, Might Nigh, features twelve tracks of Alexa’s own brand of catchy folk (one may purchase a copy from her Bandcamp). Multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Johnny Delaware performed a solid opening for the show, which was presented by Art Wall Music Hall, a community-driven organization dedicated to local music and art.
Towards the end of the show, some neighborhood kids stopped by to check it out. Alexa invited the audience to take up instruments and join the band for the performance of “Sylvia”, and for an encore, howl along with her on fan favorite “Wolves” from her 2011 release It’s a Good Life Honey If You Don’t Grow Weary.
