Playing in a band presents me the opportunity to hear more local and indie bands than I can even remember. Most of them are good, some of them are really good, and some of them are absolutely horrible. Ghost of FDR fits into none of these categories. They are without a doubt one of the finest local bands I have ever heard live. It is a shame that this is their last performance as a band, but you can rest assured that you’ll get your moneys worth Saturday night.
Ghost of FDR sounds something like blues, progressive, funk mid-90’s rock all mashed up together in a formula that is extremely easy to digest and fun to listen to. The songs are sometimes pop structured and sometimes lovingly devoid of structure. What they always are though, is badass. So Saturday, April 25th you know where you need to be.
…and they didn’t pay to write this, I really do think they are that good. Show is Saturday night at New Brookland Tavern, so hit that up and you’ll thank me.
It was an amazing show!
god that is so nice
