Björk: Biophilia Live, the new film documenting the live show based on Bjork’s eight studio album Biophilia plays in Charleston at Charleston Music Hall November 19 and in Columbia at the Nickelodeon Theatre November 14. The multidimensional concert directed by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland will begin a limited series of premiere screenings at festivals, museums, libraries, galleries and cinemas worldwide–including Moscow’s 360 Contemporary Science Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro’s Festival do Rio, ReykjavÃk’s Bio Paradis and Iceland Airwaves Festival, Panama City’s Biomuseo and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image on September 5. Meaning Columbia and Charleston are in special company hosting these screenings.
The film is based on Bjork’s 2011 album, which was the first album to ever be released through a suite of apps in collaboration with Apple. The 2011 performance featured in the film is an exploration of music, nature, and technology, where Bjork is accompanied by unique musical instruments, collaborators, and visuals.
