In their new song “Running Blind” Brigades split up vocal duties between frontman Darren Young and guitarist Charlie Jackson. That’s the formula that’s taken Brigades from a top tier local band to a band with a growing national presence. Since they caught a break signing with Pure Noise Records they’ve hit the grind of being a working band–wheels on the road and working harder than ever to make it with their lives and careers on the line. “Running Blind” captures that growing sense of urgency with intertwined guitars fading into the first verse and then a powerful pre chorus and chorus. With three songs released off their upcoming album Indefinite due out July 24, its obvious the album will carry a lot of weight for the band. Each of the songs are powerful and emotional while the lyrics stay uncertain. It’s that uncertainty and underlying presence of fear that keeps driving them forward in relationships and as a band.
Catch Brigades June 24 at New Brookland Tavern with H20 and Cruel Hand or on their summer tour with Every Time I Die.
