With a show tonight opening for veteran midwest rockers Planes Mistaken for Stars at Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, Queen City band Black Market sent us over this live video shot in Rock Hill by Jacob Worden at Studio GreyBLUE.
The four members of Black Market are no strangers to the music scene, having all played in bands before this project turned into their fuzzed out musical testing ground. This video shows the different sides of the four piece, with the second song in the three song live video showing their shoe gaze side, while the two others stay more aggressive with pounding drums and guitars feeding back when unattended, all three sticking to the melodic structures they’ve built on in the past.
Black Market recently played Rock Hill’s Don’t Sweat It Fest which previewed them in their annual zine saying “It seems like every time we see Black Market, they’re telling us that they are playing a whole new batch of songs.” The preview goes on to say “they’ve seen them morph between fuzzed out garage, post hardcore, and lately a slower/heavier grime pop.” This video shows exactly that.
