After opening up Music Farm this time last year Freeway Music Festival returns for the 3rd annual festival of the midlands lesson studio. Last year the festival raised over $7,000 for scholarships through the Conner Foundation for children who would not be able to afford otherwise afford private lessons. This year’s festival looks to top that with more than 15 acts, headlined by the newly minted Villa*Nova who will play this date as their album release show.
The showcase not only features bands of instructors and musicians who have gone through the school, but also a variety of acts from around the state, most of them with Columbia ties. The all day festival utilizes not only the main stage at Music Farm, but also the Tin Roof stage in the adjacent bar.
