Who is Andy Zipf?
Andy Zipf is a singer songwriter from the greater Washington D.C. area, although for the last couple of years the road has been his home. He has been playing everywhere from coffee shops to venues and house shows winning over fans with intimate, heartfelt crowd performances one city at a time. In the crowded realm of singer songwriters it is sometimes hard to stand out. Andy sets himself apart with a live performance where he makes himself one with the crowd and songs that not only can you relate to, but you can feel and see the honesty in them when he performs.
Why should you attend?
I’ve been to more than a handful of shows in the last year and the majority of the time the artists don’t do enough to set themselves apart. Before I went to Andy’s last show at The Watershed, I had never heard any of his songs. I remember his entire show that night. He won me over in the first song and earned my attention. He told stories. He got to know the crowd and he earned the audiences trust. He walked through the crowd singing and playing guitar and often had the crowd sing with him. Not in a cheesy way either. Luckily I was sitting by the brother and sister Venters and they carried the tune that I just hummed. I promise at the end of this show, you will want to buy everything Andy has for sale or trade
