Nothing makes us more proud than to see a South Carolina band out on the road busting their asses to get their music out there. Since Christmas of 2005 SPS has done a better job than any other band in the state at pounding the pavement and building an extremely loyal, dedicated fan base to rely on. While their audiences outside of SC have been steadily increasing with each repeat visit, it always helps to have something to come home to. And while they have been all over the country recently from Ohio last week, to Texas in the next couple of weeks, home state shows mean a lot to the band and their fans.
I’m going to go ahead and throw SPS into that class of bands that just need to find a way to get in front of a crowd to turn them into fans. They are like the sham wow of southern rock n roll bands, you hear their product one time and you’ll be a lifetime fan. You’ll never own paper towel rockers again, because these guys are the real deal. They have a huge live sound that sets them apart and live performance that other bands should take note of and mimic.

Just like Hootie and The Blowfish did in the 90’s, SPS has the ability to reach fans outside of the usual concert goers. The handsome lads tend to have a cult following of teenage girls, and with that you have a ton of guys there for the girls. And with that you have a couple of parents hanging out at the bar. Mix in 2 tablespoons of scene kids and you have a Sequoyah Prep School show. And what do all these people have in common? They are all singing along. Their tunes are undeniably catchy, and while they aren’t inventing a new sound, they have mastered Southern pop rock by making it personable and relateable.
